I used to have some fur babies but not any now. Happygrace didn’t like how my ex was treating me so she left presents on the stuff he left in the yard. She was loyal to me.

Good for her! I’m sorry you don’t have any furbabies now, but maybe sometime in the future. Thanks for sharing, Mary! 🙂

I had a furbaby for 17 years. A male shih tuz named Taz. I had to put him to sleep a couple of years ago. I still miss him. I moved into an apartment and they don’t allow pets so I am without a fur companion for now.

I’m sorry you lost Taz. It’s so hard to lose them, they become a part of us, our lives. Thank you for sharing your story, Rebecca!

I have two rescue kitties. One came to live with us after one of my friends passed away and Charlie changed our lives, especially my husband, Neal. Neal, not a cat person, was completely taken over by this cat. I swear they understand each other. Charlie is part Maine Coon and long hair something; black and white, He looks like he is wearing a tuxedo. Our little girl kitty had to come all the way from Colorado to find her people parents. Lily is my girl. She is calico and she is hasn’t quite gotten the Hunter cat routine down. She will occasionally bring a mouse but several times a day she brings me the large dried maple leaves from across the street. She is so proud of herself and of course, so am I. I wish I could post pictures they are both so pretty. Thank you for letting me share my furbabies with you.

Thank you, Pamela. My pets are all rescues, I think it makes them all even more special. One of my cats, Sylvester, is a tuxedo and looks like the one on the Tweetie cartoon – which is why my daughter named him. I love calicos too, I had one named Patches, she passed just about two years ago now, but she was my constant companion for almost eighteen years, and was my first cat.

I’m so glad you shared your stories with us!

Hi Lynne! Please give Lulu a HUGE HUG from me & wish her Happy Birthday! I too have a furbaby whom is EVERYTHING to me! Piper is a 10 yr Sheltie and from the moment I first saw her when she was 10 days old I was in love! at 19 days, she picked me out, but it took a while before the breeder agreed that Piper & I could be together forever! 🙂 Because she was such a sweet puppy, very friendly and everyone loved her, the breeder wanted to keep her to breed her. Thankfully Piper was pretty small, and looked like she was going to say too small for breeding. Piper actually even picked out her own name! I had a list of names I liked, so once I knew she was going to be mine, the next time we went to visit her & the other puppies at the breeders (my Mom and I went every week for a visit so I have pics of Piper from 10 days old on) my Mom sat with Piper facing away from me, and I went through the names calling her and she ran to me when I said Piper. 🙂 I have been on disability since 2011 and Piper and I have bonded so much! (I am 42, single, no kids, live with my parents which is perfect since I need low grade daily help and they are able to help me out). Piper and I are almost always in the same room, often snuggled together on the couch, she sleeps on the bed with me, and it is just perfect! I don’t know what I would do without her! She gets me up each day, I go outside with her, etc. When I go out to a drs appt or the like, Piper usually sits at the door crying for me, then eventually falls asleep there waiting for me. It is very sweet and I have no idea what I would do without her. If I am in a lot of pain I get her to lay on the couch with me and I call it my PCP – Piper Cuddle Power. I’ll say to her “Piper, Mom’s in a lot of pain and I need my PCP” and she will jump up on the couch and wait for me to get comfy, then she lays against my leg with her head on my leg! She is very precious! And yes, I did babble a lot! 🙂 I can’t help it! I just love my Piper to bits!\ & bits!!! Cheers! Thank you for letting me share my story and help Lulu celebrate her birthday!! And thanks for the chance to win too! That is completely unnecessary, but sweet all the same! 🙂

      Cherri-Anne,

I love your story! Piper sounds simply amazing and I’m so happy the two of you found each other! <3

It's really amazing how much difference these little souls make in our lives.

      • Cherri-Anne Boitson

It is amazing isn’t it! I never could have thought or predicted that Piper would have made my life so much richer and fuller and to be honest, she completely filled the void & desire I had to become a Mom (and the panic since I was getting older with nothing hinting that I would ever have a baby)! I know that when the time does come, I will not handle it well and probably have a mini-breakdown, but I also know that once I have started to heal, I will get another Sheltie! They are such a beautiful breed, inside & out! HUGS

    ♡♡ Happy Birthday Lulu ♡♡

We used to have a dwarf hamster. She was trained. My hubby would put her in his shirt pocket and walk around with her. Until one day she decided to use the pocket as a toilet. She went back into her cage and was never alowed to go into hubby’s pocket again haha
