Welcome to this week’s Wednesday Words with author, Michelle Roth. She is the author of the Private Relations series on Siren-Bookstrand. Her latest book, Lip Service, was just released.
The Blurb for Lip Service:
For Chris Marks, his best friend’s little sister, Chloe James, has always been off limits. In a moment of weakness he admits his attraction to her and Chloe seizes the opportunity to take what she’s always wanted. Him.
On the heels of a break up, Chloe isn’t looking to settle down. She’s just looking for a good time and she suspects that she’ll be able to find that with Chris. Together they explore her submissive side and she discovers that they’ve got more in common than she ever thought possible.
Chris isn’t looking for a relationship. He isn’t looking for any sort of emotional attachment at all. He gets far more than he bargained for though, when he starts to have real, deep feelings for Chloe. Will Chloe be able to break through the thick walls that Chris has built around his heart? Will he be brave enough to let her in?
Even though she had known him for over a decade, she was still incredibly nervous as she pulled into the driveway. Things had been slowly shifting between them for the last few weeks. It hadn’t been explicitly discussed, but she was pretty sure this was a date. For some reason, despite the fact that this was precisely what she’d been angling for, she felt a little unsure of herself.
After checking her hair once more in the visor mirror, she got out of the car. With her purse and the promised bottle of wine, she made her way to the front door. Lifting her hand, she knocked and waited for Chris to answer the door.
When he opened the door, he was barefoot, wearing a pair of khaki cargo shorts and a navy polo shirt. She was glad she’d dressed casually, too.
“Hey. Come on in,” he said, smiling.
He reached out and took her free hand, pulling her inside.
Smiling, she said, “Hey.”
Moving inside, further, she glanced around and said, “Where should I set the wine?”
“Here. I’ll take it.” Turning the label he said, “Malbec?”
“It’s Argentinian. Good stuff. It has less of the after taste than a normal red.”
“Interesting. Never tried it,” he said.
He moved across the room, into the kitchen to set the wine down.
Peering into the living room area, Chloe said, “You redecorated. This sofa is new. Tables, too, right?”
The brown leather sofa had been replaced. There was an overstuffed gray sofa with a chaise in its place. It had a few throw pillows in varying shades of black and gray on it.
“Yeah. I got these about a year ago, I think. Has it really been that long since you’ve been here?” he asked, his face clearly showing surprise.
Snickering, Chloe said, “The last time I was here I kicked your ass so badly at that racing game that I feared you’d never invite me back…” her voice trailing off sadly at the end.
Narrowing his eyes, he said, “God. I am so going to enjoy wiping that smirk off your face, Chloe. Ready to get your ass kicked?”
The battle was long and intense but after three hours, they decided to call it a draw. They had been pretty evenly matched even though Chris had just barely edged her out for the overall win.
Setting down her controller, she rolled her shoulders and said, “Commence gloating. You earned the right.”
Laughing he said, “I did win, didn’t I?”
He waited a beat and then said, “Well. It really is a man’s game.”
Chloe smacked him in the arm and said, “What the hell!”
Rubbing his arm he laughed and said, “Kidding. Kidding! Your face was priceless though.”
His smile softened a bit and he asked, “Hungry yet?”
“A bit, yeah. I didn’t want to stop playing but now that my downfall is complete,” she said, smiling wryly.
They got up from the couch and headed to the kitchen. As they walked through the entrance, she asked, “Is there anything I can do to help?”
Shaking his head, he said, “Nah. I’ve got in under control. Keep me company?”
Nodding, she headed over to the other side of the island and she stood there and watched him work for a moment, then asked, “You’re sure?”
“Just relax and have a seat. Let me make you dinner,” he said, then paused before adding, “By the way. How was CrossFit? Did it break you again?”
“My muscles are a little stiff from sitting for so long,” she said, gesturing to the living room. “But not like the other night. We did lots of shoulder work today.”
“You’re tough, Chlo. I don’t think I could handle that stuff. Especially with my knee. Swimming and weights are about all I’m good for.”
Surveying him a moment, she said, “Well, clearly that’s working out just fine for you.”
“Glad you noticed,” he said, smirking.
“Hard to miss,” she replied, rolling her eyes.
She continued to watch him in fascination as he moved to the refrigerator and took out the steaks. They were on a plate, and looked like they’d been seasoned already. Setting it aside, he grabbed two potatoes out and what looked like the beginnings of a salad.
As he was preheating the oven, he looked back at her and saw that she was watching him intently.
“What?” he asked.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen you cook anything that didn’t involve a microwave before. Frankly, I didn’t know if you knew how. I’m impressed.”
Smirking, he said, “A man’s gotta eat. Besides, this is mostly just grilling. My genetics demand that I be able to cook over open flame.”
“Easy,” she said, laughing and holding up her hands in surrender. “Nobody’s doubting your manhood. I just realized there’s a lot that I don’t know about you even though we’ve been friends for years.”
“I know what you mean,” he said. “It’s strange to think that we’re still getting to know each other after all this time.”
Chloe rolled her shoulders again, and stretched her neck.
Glancing up at her again, he shook his head. He set the potatoes on the counter, and slid the steaks back in the fridge. Moving to the sink, he washed his hands and dried them on the dish towel.
She watched him curiously, not exactly sure what was going on until he walked up behind her and placed his hands on her shoulders. Gently, he began to massage her knotted muscles.
Groaning, she said, “You really don’t have to do that.”
After a brief pause, she added, “But don’t expect me to fight you on it. That’s great.”
“You’ve been rolling your shoulders since you walked in the door. Besides, I’ve wanted to get my hands on you since you got here, anyway. This is convenient for both of us.”
Smirking, she said, “Carry on then.”

The Blurb for Double Her Chances
Madison Duffey would do anything to protect her three-year-old son, Trent, including lying to everyone she loves to hide the identity of Trent’s father. A single mother with no time for anyone but her beloved boy, Madison’s world changes forever the night the men she’s always wanted blow into town and back into her life.
After one too may concussions on the ice put their future at risk, hockey players Riley and Stormy Masters are trying to decide whether to hang up their skates for good. Now they know the woman that has invaded their every dream has kept a very important secret from them. Riley and Stormy must decide if their careers are more important than the woman and child that has suddenly appeared in their lives.
Will Madison be willing share her heart to double her chances for love and have the family she has always wanted?
“Riley, I can explain. Just not here, please,” Madison pleaded as she looked around the room full of her family and friends.
Riley looked to his twin brother, Stormy, nodded, and sighed. “Okay, Madison, but after this party is over, we will talk,” he said before turning on his heel to walk over to the bar to where Tye was standing serving people drinks.
Madison released her breath that she had been holding in ever since she spotted her twin standing in her family’s bar. Shit was going to hit the fan tonight and Madison wasn’t looking forward to the conversation she was going to have in the future with Trent’s fathers.
Over four years ago, Madison had attended one of Tye’s away games, which she had done numerous times before. Tye didn’t like to be alone on these long trips. He had told her on several occasions that he felt homesick and wanted one of his sister’s or his father to join him when he traveled on his away games.
On one particular away game, Madison couldn’t sleep, so she decided to go down to the bar and have a nightcap. After receiving her vodka cranberry, she decided to take her drink and sit in a booth in the back of the bar, where she could enjoy her drink in peace. That’s when she noticed the two handsome men, Riley and Stormy Masters, walk into the bar. She knew who they were since they were her brother’s teammates, but she had never formally been introduced to them.
Every woman in the bar took notice of them, including their loyal fans. After they signed a few autographs, they took their drinks from the bar and turned around, looking for a place to sit. That’s when they both locked eyes on her. Madison felt her skin heat as her clit throbbed by the way their hot molten eyes were boring into hers. They smiled at her and walked toward the table she was seated at in the back and smiled at her as they approached her. These guys were the tallest men she had ever seen. Madison was a tall five-foot-nine woman but even she had to stretch her neck to look at them as they spoke to her.
“Hi,” the one she recognized as Stormy said.
Madison nodded and smiled. “Hello.”
Riley, Stormy’s identical twin asked, “Do you mind if we join you for a drink?”
She waved her arm at the chairs around her, but they both decided to sit in the booth on either side of her.
Riley was the first to address her. “Do I know you from somewhere?”
“Tye Duffey is my little brother.”
“Ahh…I thought I recognized you from somewhere.” Stormy then turned to face her and moved in a little closer. “So where is little brother now? Did you put him to bed with his pacifier?”
Madison snickered. She noticed that he had slid closer so that she could smell the scent of the fresh soap he must have just used. She noticed his black hair was still a little wet. They must have just showered and come down. Stormy had short spiky hair like Riley’s except Stormy’s hair was only spiky in the very front as to where Riley’s was spiky all on the top of his head.
“No, he was tired and wanted to crash early.”
Riley nodded. “Stormy practically dragged me out of bed too. Today’s game wore me out.” He leaned in closer and whispered, “But I sure am glad he talked me into coming down here for a drink. This gives us a chance to get to know you better, Madison.”
Long story short, after a few hours and way too many vodka cranberries Madison ended up going up to their room and having sex with them. The next morning when she woke up in the middle of them, naked, she grabbed her clothes and ran like a scared little rabbit. She knew it was a mistake having sex with them. But it was the best sex she had ever had. They were both so attentive and relentless in bed. She barely had a chance to breathe when they wanted to have sex again. They fucked like bunnies until the sun came up. Riley and Stormy probably had a girl in every town the visited. Madison didn’t want to be one of their groupies.
After that one special encounter with the twins, somehow they got her cell number, most likely from Tye, and tried to contact her by phone messages and even text. By then her period was late and she knew she was going to have their baby. Madison was scared and didn’t know what to do. The twins were just starting out in their careers. For God’s sake, they were only twenty-three to her twenty-eight years. She knew that they wouldn’t be ready to have a baby. She couldn’t bear to abort her baby if they asked her to. After a while the phone calls and text stopped. And Madison’s world of motherhood was about to begin without a father for Trent.
Lana’s voice brought her out of her trance, bringing her back to reality.
“Are you okay?” she asked in a concerned voice as she dragged her back to the kitchen for more privacy.
Madison closed her eyes and looked around to make sure that no one was listening. That’s when Trent came from the back storage room holding a stack of plates and the basket of French bread.
“Mommy, are you okay? You look sick,” the sweet little angel said to her.
Lana was the one to answer him. “Mommy is fine. She just needed to get something back here in the kitchen she forgot.” Lana shushed him from the kitchen before turning to face her once more.
With Lana’s hands on her hips she said, “Spill, Madison. I am not blind. I know Riley and Stormy are Trent’s father. Holy crap, how couldn’t I have seen the resemblance before today? I have seen them play with Tye all those years. They look just like him.”

I hope you’ll help me welcome back one of my favorite sci-fi authors, KD Jones to this week’s Wednesday Words! KD has a brand new release, Inter-Galactic Bounty Hunters, and even better is it’s a brand new series. I’m still reading this book, but I have to say that you won’t be disappointed one bit, and OMG is Jagger DeSantos HOT! Ohh and we have a special treat for you too…but first, here’s he blurb to entice you.
Warning: For Mature Adult Audiences. Contains language and actions some may deem offensive. Sexually explicit content. MF
In book one of the Inter-Galactic Bounty Hunters: Jagger Desantos, bounty hunter, takes on what he believes to be an easy case. A beautiful woman who has skipped bail. It should be a piece of cake. Get in, get the fugitive, bring them back, get paid. Simple right? Except this case turns out to be anything but simple when the girl turns him inside out and upside down.
Daniela Martin works at a five star restaurant as a sous chef. It is the pinnacle of her career so far. Her real dream is to open her own restaurant with every day that passes the dream is closer to becoming a reality. Life quickly changes for her when she is accused of a crime she didn’t commit, causing her to run for her life.
As danger surrounds them and their lives are threatened, they will have to find a way to trust one another. But can Jagger overcome the rules he has lived by in his bounty-hunting career and carry out his job, which requires him to turn Daniela over to the authority? Will Daniela be able to trust Jagger with not only her life, but with her heart?
I have to tell you, I was so excited to have KD Jones back and to talk to her about her latest book. Unfortunately she was all tied up with release week activities and she sent Jagger instead. Woo hoo err umm darn. I’m so disappointed…well not really, sorry KD, but a sexy bounty hunter wins out every time. The hard part is going to keep from drooling while I stare at him. 😉 Ooh…here he comes now!
Lynne St. James: Hi Jagger, I’m so glad you could make it today. I’m sorry to hear KD couldn’t join us, but I’m sure you’ll be able to handle me, errr this interview just fine.
Jagger Desantos: KD works hard and I feel bad for the hard time that she gets from the other bounty hunters. We aren’t the most forthcoming people in the galaxy. But I am happy to hang out with you today.
Lynne: So what made you want to become a bounty hunter?
Jagger: I was a wild teenager and kept getting into trouble with my cousin Vic. I “accidently” skipped bail and a bounty hunter tracked me down. He was cool about it all. Told me there was more money to be had on the other side of the handcuffs. I thought, what the hell let’s give it a try.
Lynne: Any outstanding warrants on me? Oops, sorry. Anyway, what was the hardest part about this case?
Jagger: *** Chuckling *** I ran a check on you before I agreed to this interview. Just kidding. The hardest part about this case is having a gut feeling that Daniela was innocent but having to still do my job.
Lynne: Is it true that the way to man’s heart is through his stomach? Is that how Daniela got to you, being a sous chef ?
Jagger: Can’t hurt. But Daniela peeked my interest before she ever cooked for me. Then she got me addicted to her smile, her laughter, and her sexy curves.
Lynne: Sorry, I’m getting off topic here. Can you share a little about your childhood?
Jagger: Boring really. I grew up with my parents on Decaro Minor. Some people call it the Devil Planet. The full Decaros like my father and cousin Victor have these little horns on their heads that grow with extreme emotions. My mother is human so I am a half-breed. I had to put up with a lot of bullying there. I learned to fight early on to protect myself. But I knew my cousin Vic, who is more like my brother, would always have my back.
Lynne: Do you have any pet peeves?
Jagger: I hate it when a criminal begs. It’s always the same story. “I didn’t do it. It’s a big mistake. Someone set me up.” Blah blah blah.
Lynne: Do you have a favorite place you like to go to relax between cases?
Jagger: Any island on Bazin where the women are hot and the clothing is optional. Well, that used to be my common vacation spot. Now a days my favorite place is anywhere my girlfriend Daniela is.
Lynne: When you aren’t jetting across the galaxy bounty hunting, what do you like to do for fun?
Jagger: Just being with my girl, in bed, burning up the sheets. It’s my favorite past time.
Lynne: Can you tell us any secrets about Daniela we won’t find out from the book?
Jagger: Don’t tell her I said this, I will deny it fully, but she is a horrible singer. I mean burst your eardrums bad.
Lynne: Anything you’d like to share with your fans?
Jagger: I just want everyone to know that if you break the law and skip bail, I will hunt your ass down across the stars and bring you back to face justice, just not kicking and screaming. Personally, I hate all that drama. I’ll just knock you out and drag you back in.
Lynne: I really want to thank you for putting up, err visiting with us today. You’ve been a great sport. Please tell KD when you see her that we missed her. ***shaking my head no*** Really we did. But you can come back anytime you want to chat!
